It was during the era that gay activism became very sexy, and Chad took bold advantage of that reality while fashioning it into his own jack-off party with a guestlist of chosen friends.
Chad James remains the driving force behind Healthy Friction. In his own words:
"Those early parties were far beyond explanation. Oh man, they were so good that at times my own party would intimidate me. I mean, so fantastic, especially for me, as I wanted to see everyone there jack themselves off. The late Scott O'Hara came to a number of my parties which were held in groovy locations I would find all over LA. From store fronts in the hood to art galleries in Hollywood, the locations varied as did the day of the week."
